I run Windows 7 64bit and have EZD2 64bit installed and running with no problems. Learning it and loving it so far, thanks.
I downloaded four updates this evening. The first three had no problem:
— TT290_EZDrummer2_Core_Libs_Update_WIN_101
— TT290_EZDrummer_Update_WIN_201
— TT106_EZX_Cocktail_WIN_140
The fourth update was TT288_EZX_PopRock_WIN_152. When I clicked on the updater icon I first received a Windows error message saying I could not access the file and perhaps had insufficient permission. A moment later, however, my antivirus program (Panda Antivirus) alerted me that it had neutralized a suspicious file and the updater icon disappeared from the EZD2 update folder.
I opened the Panda control panel and it reported that the updater file is named win32exploit.gen. I thought it odd that the file would be a win32 file and also odd that it was reported as a virus.
I extracted the TT288_EZX_PopRock_WIN_152 zip folder again and looked at the description of the updater file and it is indeed described as a 32-bit installer. So two questions:
1. Why is it reported as a virus when the other three updates had no problem?
2. Why does the file description say it’s a 32-bit installer if I’m running all my EZD2 stuff in 64bit? Whether it is or isn’t a virus should I simply disregard the update because it’s 32bit rather than 64bit?
Thanks for your help.
Toontrack support folks,
Any thoughts on why the EZX PopRock update got blocked from my computer as a virus?
And is that update 32bit so I should ignore it for my 64bit EZD2 installation?
Thanks!
Hi,
I am a bit puzzled by this, could you please tell me the exact filename of what you are trying to run?
I do not have that particular archive accessible right now but I am not sure what sound library component would be 32-bit.

thank you john. i’m at work now, will post full details when i return to my DAW.
john,
as mentioned above the zip folder is named TT288_EZX_PopRock_WIN_152.
after extraction the unzipped folder contains an exe filed name Updater. when i click on that file for a description it is described like this:
Type of file: Application (.exe)
Description: Toontrack Installer (32-bit)
i originally purchased EZD before EZD2 was released. is it possible that the zip folder and the Updater file are leftovers from an EZD 32bit update that i never downloaded? in other words, since i upgraded to EZD2 there is no need and in fact no way for me to install the old 32-bit updater file?
Hi,
if you run the ‘Check for updates’ function from the EZdrummer 2 Menu, does it tell you everything’s updated?
If so, you don’t need to worry about that file, which I assume is the updater for non 64-bit OSes.

EZD2 reports it is up to date. i recall that a day or two after i installed EZD an update became available. but knowing i would upgrade to EZD2 within a week i didn’t bother installing the EZD update. so the old EZD 32bit update file was still in “my products” area but is no longer useful. i’ll simply delete the TT288_EZX_PopRock_WIN_152 zip folder.
Good, let us know if there is anything else
