Okay, I really need some help.
I purchased EZD2 – installed and ran the upgrade files to take it to version 2.0.2. I ran the Core Library update as well.
I downloaded the free Pop/Rock Library: installed and updated to version 1.5.2. So far so good. Used it/Loved it.
Now here’s my problem: I purchased the Nashville EZX, downloaded, updated to 1.5.1. The midi files are accessible, and will play with any kit –
but there are no Nashville drum sounds. No PB Drums, no Ludwig Black Beauty Snare- nothing.
The files are where they should be (Library/Application Support/EZDrummer/EZX_Nashville/Sounds) and the individual folders are full of .wav files,
but I cannot get to them from inside EZD2.
The “Menu/Sound Libraries” option shows me:
EZdrummer 2 Modern – V. 1.0.2
EZdrummer 2 Vintage- V. 1.0.2
Nashville V. 1.5.1
Pop/Rock V. 1.5.2
In the “Browser” Tab I show:
EZdrummer 1 Pop/Rock
EZdrummer 2 Modern/( and it cut off here, but I’m assuming it says “Vintage”)
EZdrummer 2 Percussion
EZX Nashville
In the “Drums” Tab:
Clicking the Snare or BD, the Orange drop down window shows me Modern and Vintage options only.
The “Kits” drop down shows these kits: Empty Kit, Default DW, Gretsch USA Custom, and Yamaha 9000.
I have been through every possible snare/kit combination, and not one of them will show the Black Beauty Snare, or play the the Nashville “brushes” midi file with brushes – only sticks. There are also no different drum set looks, i.e.. all drum sets show the pearl looking default one.
Unless I’m missing something very obvious, something is very wrong.
I’ve uninstalled all of the files, manually deleted any folders and hidden files – and performed a clean install. Nothing changed.
I’m using a Macbook Pro (Retina) 2.5 GHz i7, 16 GB RAM – OS X 10.10.1.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m pulling my hair out here.
Thanks-
Bruce
Just guessing…It sounds as though you haven’t authorized the Nashville kit for use on this computer.
I find authorization easiest by selecting the newly-installed kit from the Orange Drumkit Selection button. (shown below)
The authorization window will pop up and prompt you for your Toontrack Account ID
as well as a prompt to pre-fill the Serial Number. (sorry, I don’t have a screenshot, but pages 8-9 of the Operation Manual document the process).
It’s the same authorization process that you used to authorize EZDrummer2 itself.
Here’s a YouTube video of that process, to remind you:
Well, that was it! So simple it evaded me. I was using the incremental arrows on the orange kit button, not clicking orange button itself and getting the kit selection. My Vintage and Pop/Rock weren’t authorized either. Now all is up and running.
Thanks again for the quick help.
