Is there an explination on how to adjust hi hats for real drummers? Its either open or closed right now, no in between sizzle or half open hats work.

Some kits have open 1, open 2, open 3, open 4 and open 5. Which kit are you working with?

Is your MIDI CC set up on your hat? Check your MIDI/E-Drum window.

Well im totally new to midi, but i have the gospel kit installed (for large drum set (dual module)).

So im looking to set up the hi hats to sense the pedal better as that slider thing (does nothing) its like, it senses the edge of my hats, the middle and the open only, nothing else inbetween and not sure how to set that up as the hats are only dual trigger. Not sure how Roland gets them to work with the module so nice, but with midi, yea im lost on that part.

MIDI CC set up? No idea what it is my friend, haha…

    Thanks for the replies!

Which model Roland brain are you using? Have you tried the Roland settings in Settings > Drums/MIDI In?

    MIDI

As Brad stated, if it is a Roland drum kit, there might be a mapping for it already. Check the MIDI/E drums window.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, thanks…. I bet this is why, I  thought i seen that before on youtube and forgot…. Thank you both much, I will test that today…. I love this set up, but its been a bit of fun getting it all worked out (when running the same two modules) it was a task.

Td-17 btw…. I wonder if its possible to chain two td-17 together and make the set up easier? I am running two usb chords into my pc…

I finally got all the triggers on their own channels/instruments (assigned drums)

There was a bit of over lapping until i figured out how to assign them better.

So i changed that setting and well, the hi hat actually worked worse, I must just need to learn more about it.

Then as well, alot of my settings where wrecked and even when going back to toontrack standard, most of the midi triggers (notes triggered) had to all be reset.

I dont have the time to redo it all today, but so far, arg….. it just made things worse for me, but im new to this. I have some recording to do, so i fix it back the way it was for now.

The slider thing for setting sensitivity did not seem to do anything for the hats then, they would only play opened. Foot pedal would make a closed click, but any thing else, all open hi hat sound… Love the midi, but its taking some learning.

Not sure what to do now. Changing to the midi td17 didnt seem to help the hi hat at all.

I assume i will need to do what was suggested and re route all my note (pad triggers) again.. some stayed, some didnt.

Not sure im using two td17 modules right, or if chaining them together is better. (so like, the snare on both modules does not hit the same midi key note) hence i have two of the same modules, at first, they both triggered the same drums until i worked it all out with the dial/midi note set up. How fun.

When you get it setup again, save it as your own preset and then you can always go back again.
