Is this the longest time so far there hasn’t been an expansion for the Superior Drummer series ? I bought SD3 just after LOR was released. So not really familiar with the release schedule.  I have Decades, Hansa , LOR and D&D . I don’t think the old SDX’s are going to be worth buying for mainly e drumming.

You would have thought there would have been an announcement by now if something was going to come out this year.

Im sick of waiting so bought the Singer Songwriter EZX 🙂

Its ok for softer songs, especially 80s I’ve found, the towel preset is nice.

I think you’re being impatient considering how long it takes to produce an SDX compounded by the fact that there was a series of lockdowns which probably prevented studio access for the past year and a bit, let alone collaborating with some of the producers that they hopefully scheduled. One should probably keep in mind that there was very little action in the form of release between the release of Rock Foundry in 2017 and Death & Darkness in 2019.

i’m pretty sure that Toontrack has something up their sleeve. In the meantime, my audio production is not suffering due to a lack of a new expansion.

Plus SD3 now updated to Version 3.2.5. Always a sign that a new SDX is on the way because the most recent SDX tend to only work with a brand new SD3 version. I.e. that´s what happened with Legacy of Rock, you could not run it with “old” SD3, it had to be the latest update.  Let´s see 😉

Looks like patience is paying off. It appears that a new SDX appeared to be named Fields of Rock, is slated for release on October 5, 2021. This one seems to feature producers: Tom Dalgety & Mat Hector. I can’t wait to treat my ears to this one.

A Happy Rocktober it will be

I didn’t buy it, but I would have if it was an SDX.

I expect some quality recorded drums that I can create some mixes to chug my guitar to.

I’m not bothered about specific cymbals or drums as long as they sound good and the articulations play well from my ekit

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Same here. I don’t care about brand names. What I care more about is that the spotlighted producer has recorded the drums faithful to how they would have done it with the artists they represent. Everything between the drum throne and the computer is what matters to me.

Agreed. I’m a drummer but I’m not looking for particular brands as they always use great drums/cymbals. It’s the sound quality I want and a decent pallet of sounds. In my case a load of toms as well 🙂

If the quality is the same as Legacy of Rock then i will be highly delighted . Only a day to go to 🙂

I was going to buy Rock Foundry SDX, so I am glad I haven’t yet as FOR may be a better option. It is already the 5th where I am and no sign yet !!
