Toontrack doesn’t reveal release dates for products in advanced. Sometimes they release teaser info but there is no info we Forum Techs can disclose in any case.

I think they have released more than I could imagine since SD3 has been out. These packs take a huge amount of work to create and test.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

I don’t have a crystal ball but given Toontrack’s past record I would wager there are two SDX expansions coming before the end of the year. November is always “Metal Month” so I would expect to see a new metal SDX in November. Last year they released a metal EZX in November so this year it will be a Metal SDX. I’ve no idea why the Scandinavians are so into heavy metal.

In addition to a metal SDX there will likely be another SDX released late summer/fall. Given the most recent SDX’s it will likely be focused on another iconic audio engineer.  I’ve got Decades and Legacy of Rock, both of which are amazing!! I’m really looking forward to what comes next. Hopefully Covid doesn’t derail all of my predictions.

I would like the same but only the presets studio ready. I want raw drums to work with also. Leave ezdrummer for all processed drums. SD3 needs to be totally flexible

I’d rather have a proper update on the Core Library (positional sensing articulations on the cymbals and the toms, for example) than yet another overpriced  expansion pack. Or you know, get us version 4.

But if that’s not in the cards, how about a Pop or Country library? I get that over-processed “metal” is cheaper to produce but I’d rather spend money on something that actually sounds nice and is useful.

E-drummer. eDrumIn trigger interface with various Roland trigger pads. MacBook Pro (mid-2015); MacOS High Sierra; Logic Pro X 10.4.8. Superior Drummer user since 2009.

Overpriced? Geez, you must be one of those „open-source-linux-everything-that-costs-more-than-1-USD-is-a-ripoff“ kinda guy…

I wish Toontrack could fix all the bugs and GUI suggestions that people have made for almost 4 years instead of pushing new Expansions all the time !

More new EZXs coming and still no new SDXs. I bought the top package and invested a lot into it and jet the entry level EZDrummer is getting all the extras recently. And yes I know EZXs work in Superior Drummer 3, I have a few. But they rant as good or take advantage of all the Superior 3s capabilities.

Surely you bought the top package for what it already had and not future packs. There has been quite a few new packs as well as the huge percussion pack.

I bought it for the main application and more so, the future support and expansions, of which I have many already. But its been a while now since the last SDX release, Legacy of Rock. In that time, there has been a few EZX expansions released, some I have bought also. Its time for a new SDX. One that contains new leading modern kits with the full pro mixed and default presets and the articulations of the last few SDXs Like Death and Darkness, Decades, Rooms of Hansa and again, the awesome Legacy of Rock. All of which I own and love. But, its now time for modern kits, I have more than enough of retro, vintage.

Death and Darkness is the one I use a lot. It works well with more than just metal etc.

I’ve even used death and darkness in soft ballads. I love the toms on some of the kits. I also use Hansa for different textures. I think I agree that a good modern kit would be good to have. They exist in the core library but we could do with a little bit more impact. I personally want a full array of toms as well as more snare drums. You can never have enough snare drums
