I’m not sure what is going on in my system to cause this. When I load an instance of EZD2 into my Protools 12 (PT12) it will load the GUI for whatever kit I want but it will freeze the system for about 5 minutes and then once it clears it does not respond to clicks on the kit.(clicking on snare, kick etc) I’ve tried an Akai pad and mouse click. I’ve uninstalled it and reinstalled the update for Win7 and up but still nothing. Everything else in PT12 is fine and doesn’t freeze until I add EZD2. It spikes my CPU to 98%.
I have followed every instruction to the tee on both Toontrack and Avid’s sites to optimize for the combo I am using and this actually started when I installed EZD2 on my new pc.
Is there any settings I need to adjust?
Thanks

Hi,
which version number is displayed in the EZdrummer 2 plugin interface?
Which EZX:s are you loading?
Which sample rate are you using?
Any particular reason you haven’t updated to a more recent version of Pro Tools 12?

John

The version of PT 12 is as much as I could afford. I’m not a big fan or constantly paying for updates through a subscription contract if it is still the current versions ( PT 12, 12.2,12.5 etc) I paid up til 12.5.2 and I think it should update for free until they make the next redesign. When they redesign it and make it PT 13 +++ then I can see paying for the upgrade. I do not agree with a cloud type subscription for anything as you never truly own anything today that way and it ends up costing way more than it is worth to me. It’s not my fault they had bugs and needed to be fixed because I thought I was buying a well tested program. Things happen and right is right they should man up and fix it. Imagine if you leased a car and the engine went under warranty. Oh sorry we knew it wasn’t 100% I guess you’ll have to keep paying for us to fix it. It’s like leasing a car, stupid.
OK I completely updated all the EZ Drummer programs and expansions through my product manager to all of the latest versions on your site as of today. I only have a couple of expansions as well all now updated. I think more of the problem I am experiencing is the backup drive I am using to store PT files. It wasn’t fast enough so I am reformatting a new USB 3.0 drive explicitly for PT audio production.
I’ll figure it out.

After doing a complete reload of EZ Drummer and Protools it is working now but only in PT10 not PT12. It seems that it is maxing out my CPU when I add to track in PT12. I give up any ideas? It will freeze PT12 for a good 2-3 minutes and make it pretty much useless. If I try to hit a drum it does absolutely nothing. BTW I have a different back up drive now and it works fine in PT10 without any problems.
I use a 12GB Windows 10 64bit i5 processor completely tuned for audio production. I only have this problem with PT12 and not other DAW.

OK,
please try this:
Close Pro Tools and browse to ‘C:Program FilesCommon FilesAvidAudioPlug-Ins’ and delete the ‘EZdrummer.aaxplugin’.
Then run the EZdrummer 2.1.5 update again and make sure the AAX plugin gets installed.
When you open the plugin in Pro Tools 12, you should see the version number ‘Version 2.1.5 (64-bit)’ in the lower right part of the interface.
