HEY THERE, HI THERE, HO THERE….
WHEN I OPEN EZDrummer 2 I get a pop up window that reads ” NO DATABASE HAS BEEN INSTALLED. CONTACT SUPPORT FOR HELP. ” in this window there is a tab/button/ that says OK , I am able to click on it and the Drums window opens as normal,
WHEN I OPEN THE SEARCH OPTION I GET ” NO DATABASE HAS BEEN INSTALLED. CONTACT SUPPORT FOR HELP. “
WHEN I CLICK ON THE MENU OPTION IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER I AM UNABLE TO CLICK ON REBUILD DATABASE.
I have Goggled, You Tubed, emailed Toontrack Support, emailed Sweetwater ( great guys BTW) was hoping someone has some info on this problem I am having……
Thanx in advance,
I don’t know why you wouldn’t have a database under circumstances of a normal installation,
I’d make sure that you’ve downloaded and installed the latest EZDrummer2 update(s), currently version 2.0.2
and any EZX expansions available online in your Toontrack account.
If that doesn’t help, unless someone else chimes in with another idea, I’d probably try uninstalling and re-installing it.
It’s not that large of an installation.
Hey ! Thanx for the reply,
So yea I ended up uninstalling and re-installing it. And most definitely make sure you update !
I think , well I know for certain what the problem was now ……
I installed some midi drum tracks/loops from http://groovemonkee.com/pages/free-midi-loops very cool stuff and free, but as I was reading and surfing I guess EZD n Toontracks don’t play well with third parties, so somehow i believe that was screwing with the database ( ? )
Bummer cause there were some really cool beats ,
THANX AGAIN !
Alas, I have good news to report to you!!
I can tell you for a fact that GrooveMonkee MIDI is very compatible with EZDrummer and SuperDrummer.
Check out the screenshot below…I have a lot of 3rd-party MIDI grooves from GrooveMonkee, PlatinumSamples and OddGrooves installed.
Therein may be the key…if & when provided, I highly recommend using their EZDrummer-formatted MIDI (and installer).
If your 3rd-party MIDI does not come with an installer or in Toontrack/EZDrummer format,
I’d place those MIDI grooves in the “MY MIDI” User MIDI folder.
Also, please note that non-Toontrack-formatted MIDI may trigger different kit pieces than intended.
Oh and before you comment that 3rd-party MIDI does not appear on the [Search] tab
and cannot be found by the “Tap2FInd” feature, it can’t. Others have noted this “deficiency” (quite loudly) here on the forum,
and requested it as a future enhancement… Some would like it to index & search 3rd-party MIDI.
Others want it to index & search their own user-created MIDI beats and grooves.
Ah ! so it is, Thanx for the replies !
I also stumbled upon this, gonna post the link to help anybody out that might need it……like ME !
