Where are your sounds/EZXs installed, in the default location (/Library/Application Support/EZDrummer) or on some external disk? I ask because database files are located in the same place and we have had indications before that it could matter what kind of disk they are on.

Could you also check if the file Database/02_@EZDRUMMER_2_MODERN#VINTAGE/midiDB exists (in the above location) and you have read permissions for it? One way to find out is to paste the following command into the Terminal:
    ls -leO “`defaults read /Users/Shared/Toontrack/Preferences/com.toontrack.superior.auezdrummer.plist SourcePath`/Database/02_@EZDRUMMER_2_MODERN#VINTAGE/midiDB”

thanks for that but no luck – not on external and located in the folder as you mentioned above. I checked whether im admin and i am and also just gave myself read access again but no luck. When i load up ez drummer it says first thing” no database found” after i rebuild database no luck. Also have the mididb listed in those file structures so really stuck here

After you rebuild database, you say? So that is not disabled in the menu?

Does it say version 2.0.2 in the interface? That is the latest.

What is the exact message, really “no database found”? Or “no database has been installed”?

In the Browser, do you have the “EZdrummer 2 Modern/Vintage” MIDI folder?
