Has anyone got any information concerning when the new version of DrumTracker may appear? Next week, several weeks away, months away, next year, don’t ask again or we will deactivate all your other Toontrack software…..?
Hi
We are working on a new version of Drumtracker but we have no ETA yet.

Hi all. I was kinda wondering the same thing. I have a bunch of older material from the 90’s that never got released and I’m really put off on buying drumtracker because 1. its like 2+ years old near the end of it’s life and 2. I just cant see spending 130-150 for something I would never use again after I was done with it, especially if I knew a new one was around the corner. I missed out on the audiomidi.com promo last year by like a week or something.
Can you at least say whether it would be before/after summer ( a personal message would be totally ok if that’s not something to be talked about in a public forum and no i wouldn’t say anything because I don’t want my authorizations to get revoked haha) as it’s not that time sensitive, but something I would like to work on after I get done with my newer stuff. Also, how about the opportunity to purchase the new one and get a free upgrade since it is definitely in the works. At least if someone had to shell out for it they would know they would at least know it wouldn’t be obsolete in a couple of months and have to buy it all over again.

Hi – I will keep things short as there’s no firm plans for release at this point – but it will be after the Summer, that much is 100% sure.
Also, when it comes to detection, I think it works for most common conversion needs, better than other solutions out there in most cases, although we are conscious it isn’t perfect.
Remember that the demo available from our site allows you to work with it up to the point of export, so it is a matter of trying it out and see if your particular source material is too ‘tricky’ for Drumtracker to work its magic. If it does however, you can export your converted MIDI within minutes by purchasing a license to unlock the exporting facility.

Hey thanks for gettin back to me. Much appreciated. In regards to what you said, yeah, a promo with a reduced upgrade price when the new one came out would be great or a buy it now at full price and get a free upgrade would work too. The problem is……aside from the one promo last August on audiomidi.com, there hasn’t been anything at all anywhere that I know of in regards to a promo and I’ve looked and waited for months….so if you know of something…. TELL ME PLEASE!!!!! http://www.toontrack.com/forum/javascript:void(addSmiley(‘body1′,%20’http://www.toontrack.com/forum/image/s1.gif’)) I’d much rather use the money to buy yet ANOTHER SDX/EZX that I would get alot more use out of as opposed to something I would use for a very short time and never touch again.
Another idea (if you haven’t thought of it already) would be to release a subscription based version. I’m sure there’s tons of people like myself who have old demos lying around that they would love to modernize but then would really have absolutely no use for it afterwards. Seems like this utility would be perfectly suited to have that kind of option, like a monthly rental or something, just my 2 cents….

Nearer the time (unless this is close to release), I’d like to make myself available for beta-testing/development feedback. I do quite a lot of manual replacement on live and studio multitracks (I have location rigs), and DT1 for all it’s shortcomings, is a good shot in the right direction.
I can repeatedly make DT crash in XP32, anyone interested?

Any more information available on the update? I have a dual boot system, with Windows XP 32 bit on one partition and Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on the other. I use the latter exclusively for recording music. Problem is Drumtracker simply wouldn’t function under Windows 7 64 bit, so I was forced to install it on my XP partition. This means I have to re-boot every time I need to use Drumtracker (which happens fairly frequently thanks to the way I work with drums with my band). Any news hugely appreciated.
bump….Need 64bit support. Getting bored of metal months and metal presets.
I do love metal though.

Yes definitely keen for 64 bit and full Windows 7 support. Any news Toontrack?

There are other things that have gotten in the way of this project so we still have no ETA I’m afraid.

Thanks for letting us know. Have you got a rough idea as to when work will begin on this in earnest? There’s a couple of show stoppers in this app, hence very keen to get hold of a new version.
it is not so much a matter of commencing the work, it has been ongoing for quite some time, but finalizing it. Until all involved are fully satisfied with what is essentially a rewrite of the application from the ground up then it will not be released. Unfortunately it’s not something anyone can accurately put on a time line.
I know that’s not the answer you want to hear, but there would be no point releasing a new version that may address some current issues but have other limitations or design flaws that makes it a mixed blessing. I encourage all in this thread to contact betatoontrack•com if you wish to be involved in the next step of testing, eventually leading to the product availability, sometime next year.
