Hello all,
I just starting to use EZ drummer 2 and I can’t find how to make complicated bass drum patterns in this program… maybe I don’t know where to look?
I’ve been searching a while yesterday and watched some youtube video but I can’t find…
Is there a way to just draw what we want or sing it to the program? I feel stupid, i takes me not even a minute to do them in FL Studio, just draw the pattern (see the attachment) but I can’t reproduce it in EZ Drummer…
I’ve tried doing it manually, i just can’t click that fast haha and i tried in tap 2 Find, same problem, I can’t get it right and the tap 2 find pattern is to short i can’t put it all in… I’ve started to listen to all the samples that I have but it’s really long and I,m pretty sure i won’t find one like i want.
Is there other easiest way to do that? Or maybe I could export in midi the partern from FL Studio in midi and import it in EZ drummer? Is this possible ? If so how?
If not it could be cool to have that in future versions, you know an easy way to draw patterns or sing it or import it? For people like me who is not a drummer and not a pro in music theory but want to reproduce the beat i hear in my head it would be really useful…
I hope there is a way… if not i doubt i will bother try to learn and use this software, such a waste of money… I even bouth some extra samples for it hope it would be great.
Let me know
Thank you
I found the way to import midi files but the midi file I exported doesnt’ have all the parts and doesn’t sound the same… 🙁
Just so you know… I was able to do what I wanted to do by writing it in Guitar Pro 7 first then exporting it in midi and importing it in EZ drummer…
Hope they make it easier to write or draw the kicks in future versions. Until then I think I’ll continue with Guitar Pro and import after.
For the curious I attached the midi file I did…
Hello! Welcome to the EZD2 software. Here’s some short answers and then some ideas.
If you wanted to create beats inside of your drum software, note for note, you should have went with Superior drummer. You can cross-grade to it, I believe for a discount.
Secondly, using EZD2 in your DAW is the way to go and a very common workflow, but this has more to do with learning your DAW in detail, than EZD2. I’m not clear on whether you’re using it as a Stand Alone program, or inside of your DAW. Use it inside of your DAW, if it’s the prior, if you want to be able to program every detail/note of your drum beats. Your screen shot in your initial post, you can use EZD2 inside of FL just like that, if you didn’t already know.
Here’s some videos to customize/edit/record in EZD2 standalone. Regardless of these videos, there is no Piano Roll feature or as you say “draw what I want”. You need to use EZD2 inside of FL to do that.
I hope this clarifies.

Wow thank you for the great video links! I didn’t take superior drummer for many reasons. I’m a guitarist so I know little about drums and I just want to record my ideas for my drummer not replace him. I do use EZ drummer in my daw (Reaper) but I’m still new also with midi so creating beats directly in the daw looks a bit too time consuming for what I want to do. Thank you again for your tips and usefull videos. I will continue to learn more about the software by watching videos and try different things. But so far I kind of like doing it in Guitar Pro, it’s more precise and i’m getting better at it, I was able to make a couple more beats today with it. Plus it’s good to also write my riffs in Guitar Pro after I compose them so in that way i kill two birds with one stone.
