I learned today that the NEW YORK STUDIOS VOL.1 SDX used to be in the core library of SD2.
I kinda like the funky demo song on the website, so considered buying it, but perhaps the core library of SD3 is more or less an upgraded version of NEW YORK STUDIOS VOL.1 SDX?
I’m not sure, but the way I think about it is, why pay nearly $200 for 25gb of samples (New York). When you can get 180gb of samples for the same price (legacy of rock) . I think the size of the sdx speaks for is quality and available articulations. That’s just my guess

yes thats my thoughts exactly. I’m currently mainly interested in funk style kits, currently already own decades and hansa next to the core library. So I wonder if this NY vol 1 (avatar) will be worth it…
anyone have it and is willing to share their experience?
Well I upgraded from sd2 and have the library and a few others from sd2. I don’t use any of them now so my answer is probably not worth it. It all depends on what you are doing though. I’m coming from the point of a drummer who plays in the drums from edrums and I like them to have all the extra articulations the sd3 kits have.
