new owner – I can’t unzip the 1,3 GB file

Hello,

I’ve tried to download twice from my user area the same file (works fine till there) but the file (aladin self extracting file which is pink) gives me always the same message error “format zip item reader exception: CRC mismatch, data is invalid “.
I’m on windows 7 and tried it also on my music computer on XP, same results. Using winrar by the way.

file name : TT130 Beatstation WIN
Winrar test: ! C:UsersxxxxDownloadsTT130_Beatstation_WIN.exe: CRC failed in TT130_Beatstation_WINInstallContentsprogram filesToontrackBeatstationContentsSL-BTX-ORGANICSoundssoundb1.obw. The file is corrupt

Any idea what to do ?

Can you try using the Windows extractor instead of winrar?

Hello Scott, thanks for your reply, in fact I’m double clicking on this file and it is self extracting directly without winrar (I’ve used winrar just to test the file)maybe I need to download it again (using firefox and a cable Internet line…maybe some download issues ?

I download the 1,3 GB file at least 7 times and it’s always the same little file “SL-BTX-ORGANICSoundssoundb1.obw” which identified as “corrupted” it’s a weird coincidence or the file is really corrupted ?

Ok. Toontrack has checked the Beatstation download and found no problems with downloading, extraction, and installation.

Are you using a download manager to download?

Thank you Scott, I’m using only Firefox, no download manager, I’m puzzled I have to say because i download 8 times now the same file and getting exactly the same corrupted file, will try with another computer and IE . Back to you in 20 min

i’m back and have a weird internet experience but finaly it works:

– firefox –> always the same issue
– IE –> working fine on the first try after the first download (unzipped without any message error)

maybe it will help future users.

I don’t have a clear explanation… maybe it’s because firefox has an integrated kind of download manager …
anyway let’s start the music now, I will install it tomorrow then.
