So I’m hyped for the new “Death Metal” and “Dark Matter” EDX’s that were just released. However it’s not clear to me if the midi files included within each EDX are brand new.
The Death Metal EDX has midi performed by Dave McGraw of Cattle Decapitation but Toontrack already released a Death Metal midi pack of Dave McGraw’s playing last year. So are the midi performances in the EDX the same or brand new? And if they are the same as the midi pack I already purchased last year why would I pay full price for the EDX?
Same goes for the Dark Matter EDX. The midi files were performed by the drummer of Code Orange. But last year Toontrack released a midi pack called “Doom/Core” featuring the same drummer and I already purchased that. So are the midi files the same? They don’t make this clear and though I’d like the new drum kits and sounds I don’t want to pay full price for a pack that includes midi files I already bought last year.
So is Toontrack recycling the same old midi files or are they just not communicating clearly enough?
