    Hi there,

Unless you moved your MIDI files, in addition to your Superior Drummer samples, the “Additional File” and “Toontrack MIDI” should be set to:

    ‘{Mac HD}/Library/Application Support/EZdrummer’

    Superior Drummer 3 version: 3.3.6
    Operating system: macOS Ventura (13)

Mac Studio M1 Max, RAM 64 GB, 1TB Drive, OSX 12.x/13.x and Windows 10 (VM)
DAW: Studio One Pro (always up to date)
DTX Express III (Extreme triggers), Nektar LX88
    OWC Thunderbay Mini (4 X 1TB Sata SSD), Express 4M2 (4 X 2TB M.2 SSD), Envoy Express (1TB M.2 SSD)
Presonus Quantum, Faderport & Faderport 8
    Black Lion Sparrow Mk2 A/D, FMR-RNP-RNC, MIDI Xpress 128, BM5A, KRK VXT4, Equator D5
    2020 Macbook Pro 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD Audio(mobile rig)

…and your User Presets are generally located in:

    ‘/Users/[yourusername]/Library/Application Support/Toontrack/Superior3’

    Thanks for your answer John,

I don’t have EZ drummer installed on this new machine as I’m going to be using strictly SD3. Is there any way I can get rid of that notification or remove the Additional Libraries that are not in use?

I have changed the paths to the Additional files to the Superior Drummer 3 database as I don’t have EZdrummer and that got rid of the Alert icon but I’m still getting the following message when I go into the Grooves tab.

I have also changed the User Presets path to the one you mentioned and seems to be fine, so I guess it’s just the Additional Libraries (Toontrack MIDI and EZdrummer sound libraries (EZXs)) what’s creating the problem.

Any ideas how to fix that?

    Thanks in advance.

Well, you have to have a Toontrack MIDI repository and you can have it on your external drive but it needs to be “formatted” correctly, so to speak.

The best and easiest way would be to locate it, most likely on your internal HD at the location Brad wrote about above ->‘{Mac HD}/Library/Application Support/EZdrummer’ and move that ‘EZdrummer’ folder with all its subfolders and content intact to your external drive and folder of choice. Then make sure that the ‘Additional libraries’ path points to that location and ends with ‘EZdrummer’.
And no, it does not matter that you are not going to have EZdrummer installed on your system, this is how it works.

    John

    Thanks for your reply.

    I see.

The thing is there is no EZdrummer under the path you mentioned (‘{Mac HD}/Library/Application Support/EZdrummer’)

The only EZdrummer folder I have found searching on my mac lives in ‘MyUserName/Music/EZdrummer’

Should I move that one somewhere else? I don’t mind that where it is or anywhere in my local drive.

Also if I move the EZdrummer folder somewhere else, will I be able to relocate the path? This is what I can see when I click on the options dropdown to change the path.

There’s no option to relocate the path, only a comment to move the one already selected which is an SD3 not an EZdrummer folder.

    Thanks.

In Product Manager, go to Superior Drummer 3, Basic Sound Library Part 1 > Show Details.

It will show whether you have downloaded and installed the core MIDI files.

If they are not installed, then please download and install.
