I just bought some add on packs for New York vol 3 and Superior Drummer 3. Like a Neil Dorfsman addon.
Now the default and unchangeable install location is set to a place where (MARKED IN RED on the picture) i don’t want it: my boot partition.
But in some other partition/drive where all my Toontrack stuff resides. In this case either with the NY3 stuff already there.
PS are these midi data? then they should go to the MIDI folder inside my EXdrummer2 folder LoL.
How? thnx J
The Neil Dorfsman NY Vol3 is a Producer Preset pack that was designed for Superior Drummer 2. They are not MIDI or sounds, only presets. That’s why they are auto installed to the preset location.

Thanks, so of no use with SD3 i guess?
They should still work. However, they are created using the built in effects from S2, which were from Sonalksis. S3’s effects are from Overloud. Great care was taken to match the presets closely using S3, but they aren’t, and can’t sound, exactly the same. But, in your case, never having used them in S2, it shouldn’t matter much.

OK, thnx, i’ll give it a try, but can i move those presets elsewhere than in the users SD3 folder, as said i prefer all in one place and NOT my boot drive … too many times i had to reinstall an old boot image when windows starts sucking up. J
No, they can’t be moved. They need to reside in the default install folder for S3 to locate them. The paths to the preset paths can’t be manually set so if you want them to appear in the corresponding Library Drums and Mixer Preset menu, you will need to leave the default install location.

I know on a Mac you can create a symlink in SD3’s preset folder to point to wherever you’d like and SD3 would never know the difference. Not sure if a shortcut in Windows would work in the same manner.
