Need more cowbell and ride bell (can’t get them working)

I’m pulling my hair out over the following two related issues:

 

1. I added a cowbell instrument to a preset as seen in the one photo, but the midi setting option is grayed out. I cannot figure out how to map my cowbell to this instrument.
2. I have a ride bell that is connected to one of the tom zones in a dual zone port (alesis strike module) I used the learn button under ride bell to map it but for some reason, even though in midi settings, when I click on that instrument, it sounds the bell, but when I hit the bell on my kit, it is sounding one of my other toms. What the heck am I doing wrong?

It looks like you have aimed it at the ride bow tip. In the list from the first screen shot select the cowbell and not the ride. Then learn or manually map. It will then steel it from the ride bell.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. I guess I confused the issues. I have two:

 

1. ride bell (1st screenshot) not working as it is playing a tom sound instead of the shown ride bell
2. per the 2nd screenshot, the midi mapping option is grayed out so I can’t map the cowbell.
