Sorry if this question is in the wrong area. I just noticed the Midi Forum section.

I haven’t confirmed this, I just decided now to take a look for myself. Go to the product page of the midi pack, when you play the demo, it seems there’s metdata in the name. Maybe if you’re viewing on a cell phone/tablet, these titles are cropped out.

I think it’s safe to say that by default, you do not own the sounds/expansion packs to replicate what you’re hearing. But you might depending on what you’ve purchased in the past.

I don’t think I have a rock solid reply for you though. According to my screencaps. I do not see a Dream Machine preset in the Dream Pop EXZ. Owning Superior myself, I do not see a Grand Piano preset. It seems they’re telling the product it derives from, but maybe not pinpointing the preset, which very well could be custom, so you may have to work for it after the purchase. Not sure what the metadata “Dream Machine” or Grand Piano” is, in other words.

Maybe someone else will chime in.

Eureka! Spot on answer, thanks!! There were five demos. two of them included an Expansion I have for EZ 2, the other three appeared to be something only with Superior Drummer. Not sure about that…Thanks Again.

Curious, if you don’t have the Expansion mentioned in the demo…can you still use the Midi Pak grooves with any that you do you do have?

The other meta data in question is what EZKeys pack is being played in the demo.

I see what you mean. I took what I saw to mean the Keys you were listening to was from am EZ Keys library and the Drums were from the mentioned EZX Drums libaray. For me that was good news I think. It was the snare I wanted to make sure I had. Since I have the Dream Pop EZX and the demo said that was the kit being used I think I’m good.

Any midi pack or just about midi file in existence, if the mapping is correct, will work with any EZX in EZD2.

*you may have missed my reply earlier, the othe rmetadata is which Piano or EZKeys product was used in the demo.

Yep, I just tip toed into EZ Keys yesterday by purchasing the “Upright  Piano” version.  There was a great sale on it, couldn’t pass it up. Not sure how to expand the library for it yet, what all will be compatible,….I just wanted to have a look at EZ Keys. It is impressive from what I could see on a quick dive last night.

EZ keys, for me specifically, is great just to get a chord progression up quickly that obeys music theory. That circle of fifths tool thingy will shoot out correct progressions quickly. I think the money is well spent just in that. If I’m working on a specific project, I’ll then steal the midi that EZkeys made and trigger my virtual instrument of choice. It’s a great product, you’ll find many uses for it as you discover it’s capability.

Expanding it is not exactly the same as EZD2. Every EZKeys product is the sound and core program combined. Unlike EZX’s that require EZD2 to be used.
