Need help programming midi pads to drum sounds

I recently got an MPK Midi controller, and it works perfectly fine within cubase and SD3, but it’s useless because none of my buttons work as a kick drum.

My pr0blem is that I can’t figure out how to control which drum is associated with said pad/key.

I’m not familiar with the MPK but you should be able to adjust the pad mapping on it. Set the pad you want the kick drum to be note 36. I believe there is an editor called the MPK mini Editor for that.
