Need EZDrummer?

I bought the midi ballads set. Do I have to also buy EZDrummer to use it? Is there a free player that can be used? Is there a way to export the midi files into a different program? Perhaps I was confused about this product

They will play in other drum software, but you may have to change the mapping.

Hi, the product page says:

Works with EZdrummer, EZdrummer 2, EZdrummer 3, Superior Drummer 2 and Superior Drummer 3 (optimized for 1 kick, 1 snare, 2 toms, 1 floor-tom, 2 crash cymbals, 1 ride cymbal).

While it doesn’t explicitly say that a Toontrack drum instrument is required, it states what it works with.
Even though MIDI is MIDI, the folder structure with special headers is Toontrack specific and the MIDI has a GM Extended formatting.
