Hi,
Noob question I’m afraid – I run Cubase AI5 and have imported some of my own drums to EzDrummer which I programmed in the crap VST that comes with the DAW.
When I play them in EZDrummer I can hear the humanize function working, however when I drag and drop them into Cubase, the humanization hasn’t copied over with it.
Not sure if this matters, but when I drop the beat in it automatically appears on a new track called: EP_FU_G01_04H
It may also be worth mentioning that normal preset beats DO humanize correctly.
Can anyone help?
Cheers
Rich
Hi,
the ‘Humanize’ function in EZdrummer is not about altering the groove/feel of the MIDI but how the samples are picked from the different sample pools to avoid the ‘machine-gun’ effect.
Are you sure it’s not ‘EPD_FU_G01_04H’? That would be the POP/ROCK 4/4 Straight 50-140bpm>Funk/Rock>Groove01>Variation 04 Hats 8th Tight Closed groove.
Make sure you have the ‘Import to Instrument tracks’ unchecked in the Cubase Preferences, plus, under: Midi -> Midi File-> uncheck ‘Auto dissolve format zero’ to be able to control where your dropped MIDI ends up

Hi,
Thanks for the advice, but it still doesn’t seem to be working – do you any other ideas on what it might be?
I have just noticed, that when I drop the beat in, the ez drummer track changes its name to my_midi_files_d, not sure if that is relevant?
Cheers
