My EZ Keys Instruments are arbitrarily “de-tuning” themselves – much like when software companies program their evaluation or demo software products to go in and out of tune to stop rip-off artists from using demo software. Upon experiencing a “de-tuning event”, if I stop and reset my song to the beginning, it fixes the tuning issue about 70% of the time… 30% of the time I have to close my EZ Keys program and reopen it – sometime 3-4- times, to get whatever expansion I’m using at the time to be in tune… This is not a slight de-tuning – it goes way out… (usually it’s my Grand Piano – because that’s what I use most of the time.)
Also wondering if another issue I’m having could be related to this… My EZKeys GUI says I have both the “Grand Piano” and the “Studio Grand”. Yet when I try to open the “Studio Grand” I get a prompt stating it is “Not Authorized.” My Product Manager does not list the “Studio Grand” as among my purchased instruments – but when I would have purchased it was long before the “Product Manager” was even a thing… I thought I had purchased the “Studio Grand”, but I cannot prove it. My “Grand Piano” purchase dates back to 2014… Could my main EZ Keys engine be thinking I have un-authorized software on-board and somehow be de-tuning my EZ Keys??
I tried to contact Toontrack Support about this, but got a prompt stating I had not proved that I was not a robot – and I needed to “go through the forums for assistance…” (It would have be nice to have known that before I spent 20 minutes drafting an email and attaching files!)
My DAW is Reaper (latest version 6.21) / custom built Windows 7 PC /
16 gig RAM / Any help offered here would be greatly appreciated…
Hi,
having one un-authorised expansion should not affect your authorised ones that way.
Easiest way to check that would be to simply move the ‘EZK-STUDIOGRAND’ folder out of your ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Toontrack\EZkeys’ folder and then start EZkeys.
Does it make a difference?
