Hey gang,
Anyone know how to do the following:
In Logic Pro X, I want to play drum parts together, as in play kick, snare, hi hats, crashes, etc. on my keyboard, and have it automatically record on separate channels as in: kick drum to channel 1, snare to channel 2, hats to channel 3, toms to channel 4, and so on, but it’s all separating to these channels while I’m recording the whole kit at one time. Again, I’m looking to split up the MIDI as the recording is happening, not just create audio tracks. I apologize if this is answered elsewhere. Thanks.
Unless your keyboard allows you to split your input into zones, the ways to do this in Logic are to configure the input range on your instrument MIDI tracks in the arrange window, set up a series of transform blocks in Environment window or create a MIDI filtering JavaScript for each MIDI track to only record the note(s) you’re wanting to capture on that track. Otherwise, you would have do it after recording your region (which you can create a key command for).
