Hi All,
How do I save the output mapping? When my Mac changes output device, it looses the previously mapped settings….
Attempting to use SDX for live performance. I have ,with the help of you guys , solved a majority of my issues. One that remains with my Mac Pro, Sonoma OS 14.1.1, triggered from a Roland TD 30, and sound output to my Mackie DL16S sound board, via USB. Once I get my outputs configured for output to mono channels 9-15, if I loose connection with the board (say we loose power), the Mac will default back to the Mac Speaker outputs. When the DL 16 comes back on line, the output mapping is gone and needs to be re-entered manually. What am I missing?
Hey!
After you’ve set the output routing up, Exit Superior Drummer 3. The output routing should then be saved to the system files and load when you select that output device again.

Thanked by: Scott EshlemanThis may be more helpful if SD3 crashes and you need to recall the settings the next time you start SD3. Please try and see if it works in your scenario too.

Maybe Im still doing something wrong, but I am sitting here in front of my Mac, not currently connected to Mackie DL16. I set my output to my AirPods, set output to Multi, select output channel 1 (R) and change it to “none”, out channel 2 (R) to “none”, apply, save the entire project, close SD 3. All good. Open SD3 and project Output setting is still there. but if I change the setting to my mac speaker output, and then back to AirPod, the settings are lost, even if I don’t save and reopen.
Is it also lost if you just cut power to the board/disconnect the cable to your computer and connect it again instead of manually changing to the mac speakers in the SD3 settings?

Thanked by: glfolts@gmail.comNot totally sure, I will test…..I have had an issue with the Mac and Mackie loosing sound output all together. Its possibly cable related, so Ive ordered new cables for both connecting to TD 30 and MACKIE. SD3 suddenly fails to see the Mackie, switches output to the MAC speakers, and thats when I am losing the settings. When I get the two reconnected settings are gone. I can recreate the same issue when I switch outputs as described above. If it was to happen in a show, and I needed to reset the outputs, thats a killler….so I am trying desperately to solve the issue. I like the sounds, want to use the product….
I will forward this to our development team for further investigation. Meanwhile, are you able to try using some sort of lightweight DAW to see if it handles this differently, as a workaround?

Hi And thanks for the support!!! OK when I disconnect the USB cable or power down the DL16s, SD 3 crashes . When it comes up, settings are still good. When I unplug the usb for the td30, SD 3 switches to computer only and connects back up the instant the usb is reconnected.
WHEN I cut the power to everything things get more difficult…. The laptop stays powered on battery with SD3 running, TD 30 and Mackie DL disappeared. MAC switches output to MAC speakers, TD30 has to be reselected in midi settings (second test TD 30 reconnected automatically), Mackie has to be reselected in outputs, AND it has lost the settings since it switched over to the MAC speakers during the black out. Oddly SD3 did not crash even though Mackie disappeared.
If the Mac/SD3 was not automatically switching to mac speakers, it would all reboot and the MAckie outputs would be there.

Anyone have any thoughts on a lightwieght DAW that I could run/ test?
