HI-
I work with a friend and we both use Pro tools sessions which we share and update via Dropbox with each other.
We both have SD3 and sometimes the SD3 data stays within the Pro tools session folder and sometimes not. I realise this is probably my ignorance but is there a way to save all the relevant tracker, mixer and sound data in the pro tools session folder? like plug-in data ???
or do I have to save all the tracker/mixer/sound data in the SD3 file format and manual transfer that to the Pro Tools session?
Hoping someone can help
Jed
Hi,
everything internal to the plugin should stay the same.
If you are referring the plugin to external sounds and they are not in the same path, things will not sound/work the same.
I.e. if you have your own samples that you use for stacking or new instruments, your friend needs to have the same samples residing in the same place on his/her hard drive.
Alternatively you could place them in a ‘samples’ folder inside your Pro Tools Session structure when you send this.
The same goes for any files loaded into Tracker.
If you keep it simple, they all reside in the ‘Audio files’ folder for the Session, then Tracker should find them. I haven’t moved Tracker dependent files after tracking myself, so I would have to double-check, otherwise it shouldn’t be hard to re-link them
