I want to reformat my OS drive and to make it easier to do in the future I’d like to move SD3 to a separate hard drive. Is it possible to move SD3 to another hard drive without re-downloading and re-installing?
You can move the SD3 Core Library to another drive, the plug-ins and standalone should be re-installed to your system drive. To move the library (on a Mac);
Locate the folder; SL-SuperiorDrummer3
Move SL-SuperiorDrummer3 to your new location.
When you start SD3 it will not be able to find the library with the option to “Open Settings” (if you only copied the library then go to “Settings > Libraries”)
On the right side of the library for SD3 select the pull down menu, Edit Path and navigate to the new location.

The SDX’s (or sample libraries) can be moved to an external drive as well. The only thing that should be left (or re-installed) on the system drive is the plug-ins for Superior Drummer 3/2 and EZDrummer 2 if you have them installed.
