Press Shift key while scrolling, to make it change in smaller increments! Shift also works when you click + drag to change controller values.

I still thank you for replying, but holding down Shift did not change it to smaller increments.

Without Shift: one Scroll ‘click’ = moved value from ‘0’ to ‘+1.7’
With Shift: one Scroll ‘click’ = moved value from ‘0’ to ‘+1.7’

I even changed the mouse hoping it was my ‘Amazon Basic’ mouse. Ha.

Hm, strange. When I scroll my mouse wheel “one click” my controller changes from 0% to about 5%. When I hold Shift, it changes to around 0.5% with “one click” (I tried on a Macro Control).

Can you try to click and drag on the controller to change it, and see if you get smaller increments when holding shift?

Can confirm that the shift key has no effect when dragging also.

That’s exactly what I want; increments of .5

Henrik, are you using a windows computer like I am?

Can anyone else reading this chime in on your results?

The shift-key works primarily when you roll the mouse wheel over the displayed value rather than the control handle.

I highlighted all different number placements of the displayed value and the scrolling did not change any numbers with or without the shift key.

Which of the 3 choices of dragging the mouse are you using, (vert. horz. or circle), if that has anything to do with it?

I’m sorry to have this drag on, but I can’t believe that we are getting such different results.

Don’t hilite the displayed value just hover above it with the mouse pointer and roll the mouse wheel.

It is also possible to press down (and hold) onto a display and then drag the mouse up and down to change the value like with a slider. Pressing and releasing (clicking) a display allows a value to be typed in. The old value starts out as hilited.

    • I would suggest Vertical, which means that when you click the controller and drag straight up you raise the value, and down lowers the value.
      • This is, for most users, the easiest way to use the controllers with a mouse, or with a touchpad/touch screen.
    • Horizontal means drag straight left to lower value, straight right to increase
    • Circle means that you drag the mouse as you would drag the rotary knobs in real life – clockwise to increase, counter clockwise to decrease value.

    Thank you Henrik and Olof.

I got shift to work on the displayed numbers.

May I suggest that the shift feature be expanded to include the ‘slide bars’ too? It would be handy.

Yes we’ll have a look at this, since that’s the way it should work 🙂
