I am using the Metal Foundry default settings, and want to route each channel to my DAW without buses. There aren’t enough channel outputs to do so. Can I add more than 32 channel outs?

Well, it’s unfortunately host-dependent also.
In Pro Tools, I just add a Mono Aux/Instrument Track and set its Input to a .L or .R part of a plugin output. I.e. no problem at all.

Adding a mono effect plugin turns tracks to mono. It was late. I’ll have to listen to the results, but this could work.
It’s not that big a deal in Logic also. Master a few key commands (or customize your own) and you can get it done rather expediently. A little effort never hurt anyone.
As well, there is no universal drum map. Maybe you need to rethink how you are going about this.

Big deal is relevant. Compared to other drum plugins, it’s a PITA.
Yeah, I’m rethinking. The way SD3 wants me to accomplish what I’ve always done is a workflow killer. I imagine it’s great if it’s your only drum VI. Being new to me, it doesn’t mesh well with how I’ve always worked.

It’s not my only drum VI. I have at least five that I use. To me, it’s more of a PITA to come up with the one drum map to rule them all because something that I’m doing in Maschine, Reason or BFD (to name a few of mine) probably won’t have anything to do with SD3 and probably won’t translate very well. For me, it’s more important to be able to adapt my controllers to whatever I’m using and not have to change my layouts. And, if I have to move something to SD3, I’ll have a map for that specific purpose.

All of my drum kits are mapped the same in every drum VI & sampler I own (I have 4 somewhat genre specific layouts). Its never been a problem until now. But I’m glad you’re method is working for you. Good luck to me.

Yeah, putting a mono effect on stereo tracks of mono miked instruments seems to do the trick (Logic).
And I’ll either get used to jumping back & forth between DAW & SD3 sequencers or reserve use of SD3 for Orchestral Percussion tracks. Shame. SD3 is >this< close to being my main drum plugin. Being the only one complaining about this, I doubt this will ever be changed.
Valuable lesson though. Nothing is a given. What I believe to be basic is not always so. I’ll do better asking questions prior to my next plugin purchase.

It’s more of a CoreAudio issue than a Logic or SD3 issue, and seeing that CoreAudio is at the OS level, SD3 is subject to the imposed limitations.
Logic fortunately has many ways around these limitations.
