Can someone please clarify this for me? I’ve seen other posts on this, but I’m still confused. I’m using the Roomy Premier Tape preset, and want to route the snare to my DAW in mono, and have it panned center.
There are 2 snare channels:
1. Snare Top is a mono channel and center panned.
2. Snare Bottom is on a stereo channel panned left/ right. Why is the snare top mono, and the snare bottom stereo?
They are both routed to the stereo snare subgroup panned left/right, and then to outs 5/6 panned left/right.
Should I center pan all the stereo channels, or keep them left/right? I’ve tried doing it both ways and each sound different to me. I also have an SSL channel strip vst, and have the option of using a mono or stereo plugin. Which one should I choose?
