What’s the common practice, to mix the midi tracks or record them to audio and do the mixing and tweaking there?
It doesn’t seem like I have enough control with the MIDI and using the mic setup, isolating the individual drums seems to take a lot of work. Is there a good tutorial on this specific topic with the tradeoffs (other than obvious ones) of taking either approach?
I seem to have gained the best sounding results by recording the MIDI down to individual audio tracks and mixing them.
So you record down to audio and mix then?
If you need to change drum tone you just record that channel again?
