I have both EZD3 and EZB and the drums translate flawlessly, but the bass not so much. It is muting and in the wrong place for open string…..I am using Guitar Pro 8 to translate them to MIDI. Is there a fix, as I just bought it, due to EZD3 working so well, but like I said, it changes things, once its imported.
EZbass is definitely not as good at tracking as Superior drummer 3. I’ve found that putting an EQ on the bass track before the sender, and taking all the lows out, while boosting the highs, helps it to recognize the “BASS” notes a little better. There will always be a lot of fixing, and cleaning up even after, before you can get a good track. It’s funny to me that a piece of gear designed to convert Bass to midi…has trouble recognizing Bass tones…lol
On a side note…I went the whole play the bass line on guitar method, which btw works a lot better, but if you are a bass player, playing bass lines on a guitar kind of sux..JMO. If you have Melodyne, you can also capture the bass line, and drag the whole part up an octave before sending it to the EZbass tracker.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for your email.
Before exporting from Guitar pro, transpose the bass MIDI one octave up. The lowest octave is partly used for key switches in EZbass. (Key switches will trigger Slides, ghost notes, muted hits etc)
