midi problems with roland v drums

hi 🙂
been trying to fix this for a few hours.

my cymbal sends 2 different notes depending on where i hit it (rim and bow, notes 49 and 55)
i used that to trigger 2 different sounds in another sampler (hosted in cubase) and it works fine and i also confirmed that with a midi input monitor.

but in SD3 it only sees the note 49 no matter what i do, in both standalone and within reaper both zones trigger note 49.

same pc, same drumset, same roland setup…

any help would be much appreciated 😉

edit to clarify: both zones show up as note 49 in SD3

Hi,

depending on which library, kit and mapping you are using, note 55 can get substituted or mapped to note 49.
In the Standard Roland Mapping it is re-mapped. You can enter the MIDI In/E-drums settings and Edit this, then save it as your own preset.
