I just updated to the latest version of EZK2. I use PT 11.3.1, but the problems I’m outlining are occurring in both PT and the standalone version of EZK2.
Two main problems happening with MIDI:
1) I add a chord block from an EZK midi pack, and change one of the chords with the chord wheel. When I do, the new voicing doesn’t quite sound right or fit. Which is fine, that happens. The problem is that when I try to revert to the original chord/voicing, I can’t. I can even delete the midi block from the EZK2 timeline and re-drag it down, but the midi is still in the format of the new chord that didn’t sound right.
2) I created the midi chord progression for an entire seven-minute song with a combination of toontrack-created midi chord blocks, and chords within those blocks that I edited. I fired up my PT session with that midi progression in EZK2. I wanted to see what it sounded like at a slightly different tempo, so I bumped up the session BPM a bit. The notes in the chord progression turned into something that was not similar at all to what I had before. It’s not in the same key, the play style is different, the velocity is different. It’s all a mess. I tried to go back to the original BPM, but those midi problems still existed. I quit PT without saving, fired it back up, but those midi problems still existed. I quit without saving again, and I opened a session file backup. Problems still existed. I quit PT entirely and tried to open the file in EZK2 standalone, and the problems still existed. What do I do? I spent weeks on this song and I’m worried it’s all lost.
