MIDI Packs Function

Hi, Toontrack people.  I am a huge user and fan of EZDrummer, but have questions about adding EZKeys and, in particular, MIDI packs. I have a large collection of virtual instruments (e.g., Ivory II, Vienna Symphonic, Native Instruments, EastWest) so I am much more interested in the program functions than the sounds (although more sounds is always good).

1. Does EZKeys work like an arranger keyboard (e.g., Tyros line) such that I define chords and EZKeys provides patterns to fit the chords?  If so, can other styles or patterns be added?

2. Do MIDI Packs have defined chord progressions, or can the chord progressions be defined without note-by-note editing? If MIDI Packs are add-on styles for EZKeys arranger-type functions, that would be very cool.

I can play keyboards and have done so in 1,000s of sessions, but when I am writing, productivity tools are very helpful.  Pre-defined progressions could be inspirational and I may still buy the MIDI packs if that is the case; but if I can lay out the chord progressions for a virtual player, the time savings would be enormous for making out a demo or meeting a deadline.

After watching the demos, I think the answer to #1 is “yes,” and to #2 “MIDI packs add styles that work with user chord progressions.”  If someone can confirm, that would be awesome. Thanks.

Yes,

 

you can apply playing styles from MIDI files in the EZkeys Browser to MIDI on your EZkeys Song Track, whether this MIDI is manually entered chords or recorded via a keyboard.

All chords on the Song Track can be edited with the Chord selector.
