Hi all! Having just yesterday posted a question regarding another topic I feel I should probably read the manual in its entirety instead of skimming it as I learn to use the software. Nevertheless the community here seems to be super helpful which is great. The problem I have is that when I drag grooves to the arrange bar and edit them around I find that SD3 somehow autonomously edits my grooves and deletes notes sometimes, especially from the beginning of some sections. After this happens I try to fix it in the grid editor by drawing a note but the note refuses to play and commit. When I go to another section and come back the note I just drew isn’t there anymore.
I’ve attached a video showing the problem.

In the clip I noticed that SD3 has deleted the first bass drum hit in my verse at some point. I try to put it back and it lets me draw it but on playback it doesn’t play and when I go to another section and come back the bass drum hit is gone again. I notice in the velocity bar the vertical velocity slider is grayed out instead of having a white outlook like the other bass drum hits. So in essence it seems to be disabled somehow? Any clues as to why the notes keep disappearing and why I’m unable to add more? I’ve been searching the menus and other sections in hopes to find some sort of solution but after a couple of hours of looking around still face the same issue. Thanks!
The video had too low resolution for me to see the version number in the lower left corner. What version are you running?

Hi Henrik! The version is 3.1.1. I’m assuming its the latest as I just bought SD3 about a week ago.
Great, that’s the latest version. I’ll ask a coder to have a look at this, since it’s a bug! Thanks for the report.

Hi and thanks for the bug report!
I have started looking into this but cant seem to find a good way to reproduce the bug.
Can you upload a Superior 3 project file where this bug is happening so I can check whats going on?

I am having the same problem. I have a clap track that keeps having its notes deleted. I’ve had to re-enter them almost every time I open my project. Also sometimes when I add the notes back in for the claps, it will delete the adjacent snare hits.
Have you made any forward progress on finding the bug?
I am running the most recent version of SD3 (3.1.4) and my computer is the Mac Pro Trashcan with the High Sierra 10.13.4 OS
Also I feel it’s worth mentioning that when I try to play two instances on SD3 it throws all of my midi notes out of time. I don’t know if it’s something I’m doing or a setting issue or if you can even run multiple instances.
Thanks,
Ron

Can you post a Superior Drummer 3 project file here, where this bug occurs? In that case, also explain the steps to follow to reproduce the bug.

Hi, same or similar problem here also. I try to do custom clicks with my own samples. I create 4 song tracks, each’s length is one bar and in each there are two lines of notes. Then I save project. When opened again, the first line of notes in first tracks are missing but other three tracks are ok. I put missing notes to first track again and save project. When opened next time the first track is ok, but notes are missing from the other three tracks’ first line. When corrected those, the next time missing notes are in first track…
Any progress in your investgations, Henrik?
Thanks!

Hi! I now have this issues that midi notes has disappeared from the song. It is alway´s HiHat or snaredrum. This happens
in the Laid back Ballad 55 groove. Today i updated SD3 but still, notes are missing. Yesterday closing the song, everything was fine.
I find myself having this issue. I have a couple groves that I use in 3 choruses of a song. Each time I bounce or update the mastering file in my Studio One project (latest version of SD1 and SD3) the kick drum notes are removed. I have to go back and add again in the grooves and re-update the mastering file.
I had the same issue today, I bounced a track in Logic Pro X, closed the project, and then re-opened it to find all of my snare drums (only my snare drums) missing. I checked the bounced audio file and it’s missing all the snare info as well. Please update!!!!
Hi DanRudin,
is this with 3.2.4? You can check the lower left corner of the plug-in window to quickly check the version number.
If so, could you please zip archive your Logic session (without any audio files) and attach to a post here?

John
