Can you take a screenshot of the settings in Settings / Audio/MIDI Setup / MIDI Device, and post it here?

    Hi Henrik,

In SD3, The interface device selected is Axe FX II Midi out.  The midi indicator on the device is receiving midi from the e-drum set and keyboard but SD3 is not receiving any midi.  However, Logic is able to receive midi from the same interface device and midi controllers/ drum set

Hi, sorry for the delay! I have been away from office, but I’m on this thread again. I assume you haven’t figured it out why the MIDI isn’t received by SD3 yet?

I’ll ask some of my co-workers if they have any tips on this one, since all MIDI devices I have tried so far has worked with SD3 (I am also using a Mac).

When you use SD3 as a standalone, go to Settings / MIDI In/E-drums, and watch the Analyzer while hitting the e-drums. Does it continue to say Waiting for MIDI?

Yes.  SD3 in standalone says “Waiting for Midi” and the interface shows midi being received.  However, midi is being received in Logic Pro X.

You can try a software called MIDI Monitor. See if you can get MIDI in values from your hardware.

I use it when I can’t get some software to work with my MIDI keyboards, to check that the MIDI is sent to the computer correctly. You’ll find it at snoize.com/MIDIMonitor

According to Snoize, the midi is being received from the interface to the computer.  it shows as follows:

    Source: From MIDI out

    Message: Invalid

    Channel: Nothing

    Data: 1 Byte

Meanwhile, the midi notes are being received by Logic Pro and triggering virtual instruments.

Hm, ok. It’s strange that Logic can interpret the MIDI values, since they look weird… It sounds like you need to investigate how the Axe FXII XL sends MIDI to your computer. Can you check any of their forums to see if someone else has a similar problem?

Here is how I fixed mine. I am on Mac.

Go to setting in the stand alone Sd3. In the tool bar just below all the menus, there is a tab that says “Select a MIDI Device”. When the window opens Select

MIDI Device, if the window next to it is blank hit the “Rescan Devices”, Select the device you are using ( Midi keyboard), and you should be good to go.  Hope this helps.
