No that’s not right. If you load a project it loads everything so will overwrite the previous project. As I mentioned before you need to save your different mappings in edrum settings. If you then want to to save as a project with a specific kit load the correct mapping and then save the project. I tend to use presets and then load the mapping I need. Can be awkward though if you haven’t named your edrum map to something you remember. So projects hold all the information but you have to save them with the right edrum mapping.

As Mark writes, the midi mapping is saved with a project, so if you update your maps for an ekit change, you will need to reload the appropriate updated map after loading an older project.  Can then just re-save the project with the updated map.

I have created maps for every SDX room so it is very clear what needs to be loaded for a given project.

It can get a little frustrating not knowing which older projects have been refreshed with the newer midi maps, but you can just always reload the midi when opening a project and that should ensure it is always the latest.

Well, I guess I’m learning this the hard way. Indeed very frustrating. So questions:

    1. So I can see now how you can got to he preset list and save as a user preset. But I noticed if I then load another project then select my user preset, it does not load the same mappings? Right now, frankly, my midi mapper seems all jacked up prob b/c I did something wrong from eDrumin. But why does the preset when loaded to a project not have the same mappings. it’s like 3 toms and the snare are all kick sound.
    2. I’m in the process of setting up two eDrumin boxes and of course that has it’s own challenges. What is the easiest way to make this right? Do I manually update all midi notes in ED to match SD3? Or the other way around? Also, I think I may have screwed up the SD3 mappings by sending midi from ED to SD3. is there a way to revert to the SD3 default midi map?
    3. See number 1 and 2. lol

I wonder if it might just be best to complete all mapping manually in eDrumin then match up those mappings with SD3 midi mapper? I think someone in another thread said they did it that way. This way it’s always correct (as long as you don’t make any changes in ED) Dunno, but would love to not have to re-do mappings for nearly 30 projects. I knew I should have waited. oh well.

Update: So I found this other thread in here:

    https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/using-sd3-with-edrumin-interfaces/

However, I did not have success with the automatic option. it seems like something is a miss. I have several pads all using the same midi note for some reason. This is driving me insane! I selected both of the interfaces (eDrumin 8) and made sure I selected the superior drummer mapping for both. But I’m wondering if I’m going to have to just do this manually? Like Just, hit for example, the kick, and manually set it to the same note as what shows in SD3 for Kick? and on down the line. The above says to set the midi notes in eDrumin to match SD3. I know if I did it the other way around, it will mess up grooves so I don’t want to mess with SD3 and start changing the midi notes there.

    Thanks!

Would love more help on this please. Why would the majority of all my pads be registering a snare sound? The kit object in the screen is correctly registering the sounds but my actual pads are such that all toms are snare, and the snare is a kick. the kick is also a snare. can’t seem to get Rob to respond on his forum for eDrumin for 2 days. anyone know how to change the mappings in edrumin to match what is in SD3? Pretty sure that is all I need to do but can’t figure out how to be able to edit them. My assumption is, hit the pad to see what pad in edrumin control app flashes, then change the midi note for that pad to match what is assigned to that piece when clicking it in the image in SD3. So if I hit my kick and it shows D1 in eDrumin, but when clicked in the image in SD3 Drum page and it shows F#3 or something like that, change the D1 in eDrumin to F#3 and it should work? Does this sound about right?

That would sound right but I don’t know the edrumin. Post another one on the drum forum as quite a few have the edrumin on there
