Hello, I would love to know hot to map my Roland Td-50x so it maps THE SAME regardless of the kit or presset I am using.
So, now, I choose watever kit, presset etc. set the midi routing to Roland td50x, and i re-map all pieces thar are not correctly maped for me (for example, when I hit the 2nd floortom the crash triggers, so I choose the floortom I press Learn and voila, perfect.) I save this kit/presset and when I go back to it, it all stays the same, but my problem is that if I choose another kit, presset, I have to do it all again, and again and again. Is there a way to set up my midi so it stays the same for ALL kits/Pressets?
Thanks

The answer is simple and right in the manual – do not remap in a specific kit but do the mapping changes in the edrums/MIDI page by changing an existing preset and save that as a new preset. That way every other kit you call up will have the same MIDI mapping.

I am not in front of my SD3 now, but I would swear I did it already and it kept not sticking. I saved a new preset Roland50x”Myname” and then, changed to another kit, loaded my preset and I still had to modify some mappings….anyway, I will try tonight again. Thanks!

Regarding this, I am not being succesful.
I save the mapping, I save the preset and when I go back, nothing I changed sticks.
I even tried to asign the same notes I have from my Roland module and it does not stick :__(

You must be doing something wrong as I have made lots of presets from the td50x which I modify and then save as a different name.
A preset does not contain an edrum preset. If you load a preset then you have to load the relevant edrum preset.
SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors
Seems that I figured this one out already. I was changing the midi map on the keyboard and/or making it lean etc and yu just need to change the instrument piece and save…dammit

Hi,
I am slightly confused by your last post in particular. You are Enabling and editing the MIDI mapping Preset on the ‘MIDI In/E-drum Settings’ page, right?
When a MIDI mapping Preset is Enabled, it doesn’t matter if you change Libraries and/or Library Presets, the MIDI in/E-drum preset is still active and should work as set up.
If you have your edited and saved MIDI In/E-drum preset active, you can save the current SD3 Project as Default Project via the File menu, which means SD3 will start with the MIDI In/E-drum preset active.

John
