    Welcome.

No. You can only remap incoming midi signals to compensate for different hardware manufacturers. Not midi files.

Sorry to correct you, Shootie, but the answer is yes. You can remap MIDI signals to compensate for hardware and software. I use this for Logic’s Drummer. If the MIDI files map to AD2, you create a map in EZD3 and add your MIDI files into your DAW and record them into EZD3. You won’t have to rearrange anything. Note, however, that the map is one way. Exported grooves will be mapped to EZD3 format.

School me, Jord, I love it. Do you mean manually punching the notes in to the Edrum Settings Page. Then bringing the midi to your DAWs channel, and then recording directly into EZD’s Song Track?

Great workaround. Never thought of it. I don’t want to put the time in until you confirm though 😉

I do it all the time. I have old BFD & Logic Drummer tracks that I brought into EZD3. EZD3 doesn’t care where it gets MIDI from.

Even better for Logic owners now: if you have 10.8.x, you can put drummer regions right on a EZD3 instrument track and it will treat EZD3 just like it does Drummer.

It sounds great. I’m just trying to confirm the workflow for the OP and myself. The mapping does happen in EZ on the Edrums page and you’re recording the midi into EZ’s Song Track from outside of EZD, correct?

    You got it. 😉

Normally, by outside, EZD3 is a plug-in within the DAW and the MIDI would reside on that track. Hit record on the plug-in and play the track.

    So let it be written!

I always tackle this question as i did because people want to convert a 3rd party midi collection. But on a per song basis, this is a fantastic solution. Nice one Jord! Gonna have to credit you when I preach it.

Aww heck. I’m just another rabid user. 😀

Toontrack opened a lot of doors for me when they added mapping to EZD3. I find myself using EZD3 almost as much as I use SD3 now, with the Signature EZX’s climbing up my go to charts. Mapping helps EZD3 fit better into my songwriting workflow.
