I have been creating beats with DFH using only the mouse, and although things are turning out ok it is taking way too long and I no longer have the patience. Can anybody recommend a basic Midi Keyboard that I can get for the purpose of creating beats from scratch. I don’t need anything too fancy or expensive I just want something that will get the job done without costing me too much extra. I really have no other use for a Midi Keyboard otherwise. Any suggestions?
If you just need it for drumming, I would look into something you can hit!
I have used the http://www.korg.com/product.aspx?pd=414 and it works a treat.

Well all I want it for is making beats, and that looks pretty sweet… but like I said I am trying to keep it under a certain budget. That Korg pad runs $200, and I know there are many keyboards that run way less. Are any of them any good? Or should I really be investing $200 in something like this instead?
I’ve been itching to get either one of Korg’s Nano line or one of Akai’s competing LPK/LPD controllers.
If I went keys, I’d definitely go Akai. Haven’t looked too close at the pads, and actually haven’t yet looked at reviews that consider drum-trigger usage either, but in general, these are probably near the top of my list for *hopefully* quick-and-easy tracking.
