I am wanting to add 3rd party MIDI grooves to my SD3, what is the Windows Explorer folder address to copy the files into…??
Thanks!!!
Joe
On the Grooves Tab there is a pop-up dialog saying, “Show MIDI search view (Ctrl+2). I have engaged the keystrokes and nothing happens. Is this a software glitch..??
I also don’t see any selection where I can manually change the default MIDI Groove location such as an external SSD drive.
Thanks!!

At the bottom left in the grooves tab you should have a “User Libraries” header and below that a “User MIDI” folder.
Right click that folder and select “Open in Explorer” and it will take you to the correct folder where you can paste your MIDI.
After you are done moving your MIDI there you again right click the “User MIDI” folder and select “Sync File Changes” and then wait for Superior 3 to scan all your MIDI files and everything should be there.

Go to “Settings” -> “General” and scroll down to “Keyboard Shortcuts” and make sure the “Enable keyboard shortcuts in other hosts than the standalone” is active.
If it still doesnt work, what host are you in?
Does other keyboard shortcuts work?

How about this then.. dragging midifiles from the user folder inside SD3 to my drumtrack makes them disapear. They are gone from the Windows folder and dont come up in my drumtrack. Luckily i had backup so i could test again. If i frist drop the file into the tap to find square and from there drag it to the same drumtrack it works. There is no problem drag n drop from the SD midi folder. Is it a known bug or just not possible?
Patrik,
You may or may not be referring to a Superior Drummer 2 Groove page. No “User Library” header, nor “User Library” folder. You can add a linked folder, which I have done, but it doesn’t recognize the folder when I click out and go back in.
As for the Keyboard Shortcut, I have enabled it, but the Ctrl+2 still doesn’t work.
Thanks for the help.

Patrik,
I just now found the “User Library” header. It is a larger problem. There was an older installation of EZ Drummer on this computer which was removed. The install of the Superior Drummer 3 MIDI wants to install to the older EZ Drummer folder. All of my MIDI files are on an external data stick. Since S-3 is a larger sound library, I am wanting to put everything on a 500 gig external SSD drive. Problem is, it is wanting to point EVERYTHING to the EZ Drummer folder. I cannot even get the program to install the MIDI to the default Superior 3 folder. As long as I have the smaller data stick inserted, it recognizes the MIDI. Point to the NEW SSD folder, it finds it. Close the program and yank out the smaller data stick, and every single MIDI groove disappears with no wat to access it….the “User Library” header disappears as well.
Thanks for the help.

Let me see if I understand you correctly,
1) You have some files in user folder that exist on disk and works (you can play them back in the browser).
2) You drag the file to the song track inside superior 3.
3) The next time you try to preview the file in the browser it is gone and when looking inside the folder on Windows the file is missing.
If that is the case it is indeed a bug.
I cannot reproduce this behavior here, can you try and reproduce the issue and give more details how to make it happen?

Hello Patrik..
You got it almost right other than im dragging the midi file directly into my DAW. Doing so makes them disapear from the user folder. If i do like you doing and drag them to song track inside Superior 3 they are fine. Ive posted this in a new Topic aswell where i more clearly describe a workaround. Thanks for looking into this matter Patrik..

I would contact support directly and get them to help you with moving over the installation to your larger SSD drive, Superior Drummer 3 probably wants to read your MIDI files from your other USB stick currently.
