I am trying to create a MIDI E-Drum map that will be consistent across presets and drum sets within the Superior environment. For example, if I map MIDI note 7 for a tight Hi-Hat Edge, I would like that to be consistent regardless of what drum set or preset I load up next. But this does not seem to work, even if I apply the MIDI E-Drum preset. The MIDI mapping only seems to hold with the exact configuration of drums I was using when I created it.
Is there a trick or best practice I should be using to create a MIDI map that will work across the SD3 environment? I’ve read what I think is the relevant part of the manual (9.3.5) but am still a bit lost. Is there a detailed walkthrough document or video of how the pros are using their MIDI/E-Drum presets to map large kits? Ideally, this would include “Added Instruments (XDrums)” as well, but I’d happily settle for anything that allows me to easily switch between sets made up of the BD, SD, HH, RC, 5 toms, 7 cymbals.
