Midi drum track from drummer not playing right

Hi there,

I received a drum track from a drummer who was tracking an E-Kit into Superior 3. The main kit pieces match up (kick, snare, toms) but some of the hat articulations are weird, there are some odd choked crash fills that can’t be right and other mostly cymbal related oddities. I feel like some of his toms are playing back as cymbals in my session. Is there a way to have him send me his mapping settings to apply to this track?  Any ideas?

Did he send you a .sd3p project file or a .mid file that you imported into Superior Drummer 3?

I always send my custom midi preset from the edrum page. A full project would also cover everything unless you don’t have the same sdx installed. Best to make sure you both use the same pack.

SD3 with older sdx,s plus Rooms of Hansa and Death & Darkness. Cubase and wavelab current versions. Roland TD50x using all trigger inputs for triggering SD3 only. Windows 11 computer. Various keyboards and outboard gear as well as VST instruments. Acoustic drums: Yamaha 9000 natural wood and Pearl masters. Various snare drums. RME BabyFace Pro FS and Adam A7X monitors

That’s what I was thinking. I believe he uses a custom kit he made from various expansions and I have most of them so it should totally work that way. How would he save and export a preset that would work across DAWs?

He can save a project, a preset, a midi implementation etc and they are all going to work cross platform.

The best bet is for him to prepare a kit using the base library so you know you have all the same kit components (you can change whatever you want once you have this) and save as a project as well as saving the edrum preset (just in case) and send you those. It seems silly to just send a midi file when you both have SD3
