Same here, can’t drag MIDI from REAPER into tap to find, bandmate or song creator. When you drop it over the groove library it says it can’t import an empty MIDI file, so seems like it’s not seeing the MIDI events for whatever reason

    Hi,

dragging stuff from plug-ins to DAWs is something that works universally; dragging stuff to plug-ins from DAWs is in general very restricted, e.g. in Pro Tools it is totally blocked (I can get around it there the same way as described below).

Trying to drag MIDI from a Reaper track to another VI, like Spectrasonics Omnisphere, doesn’t work for me either.
What does work for me in Reaper, is that if I have MIDI on an EZbass Song Track or EZkeys Song Track and both windows open and slightly overlapping, I can drag the MIDI from the EZbass/EZkeys Song Track to the Bandmate window.
To get MIDI from your DAW to your EZkeys/EZbass Song Track (if it isn’t there already) you can just record it to the Song Track from your DAW.

Other than that, it should be pretty easy to drag a file from your DAW to an open Finder/Explorer window and from there to your EZdrummer 3 Bandmate.
It takes 2 seconds instead of 1 but again, drag-and-drop restrictions are DAW dependent, not plug-in dependent.

    BR,
    John

Yes, that works. I can drag from REAPER onto my Windows desktop and then into EZD3. Obviously would be nice if it could be done directly, but it’s good enough as a workaround.

Understood on those points, but this did and does work with Reaper and EZD2.  Given that there’s a + when you’re hovering with the item, and then the timeline indicator appears in EZD3, it seems like it nearly works and probably should.

    Good workaround for the meantime.

    From 3.0.1 patch notes:

    • In REAPER on Windows, it should now be possible to drag MIDI from DAW tracks (by holding ctrl+alt) directly to the plug-in.

    It works!  Thank the devs!!
