Database handling in EZ drummer 2 seems a lot easier going …

In what way do you find the EZdrummer 2 database handling better?

EZdrummer loads the midi database instantly, Superior Drummer 3: each and every item has a red mark, as explained above, loading them takes an awful lot of time via ‘add to database’ for EVERY individual set ..

There is something wrong with your installation, you should never get those exclamation marks in the first place.

The MIDI folder should not be altered in any way, we don’t support moving/renaming installed files/folders around so if you are doing anything like that it would be the cause of your problems.

So, my recommendation is to reinstall the MIDI packs (remove any remaining files/folders after uninstalling them) and then run the “Rebuild MIDI database” in “Settings->Advanced”, let the database build itself and then just leave everything alone. If it still doesn’t work you could run the latest Superior3 updater.

Thanks. Isn’t the cause that both EZdrummer 2 and SD3 use the same database?

The fun part is that EZdrummer has no problems with it.

Throughout the years i bought quite a few  3rd party and occasion Toontrack MIDI packs and SDXs etc, plus some imported user stuff like exports from other drum VSTs .. tends to get messy because of that.

So i guess i should rename this folder “M:\! EZdrummer 2 SOUNDS\Midi”  on my PC, where midi is located and install all the midi’s again?

There’s also a midi data folder installed here, “M:\! TT SD3 SOUNDS\Midi”  with far less data in it; maybe that’s wrong then.  J

Patrik I appeal to you to change this in SD3. The fact is there is more than just the TT world of midi files. Just like Jack007 has said there are 3rd party libraries and all sorts. Please dont dumb it down in TT and confine us to having no choice where to put the midi folder.

I too are always struggling with the exclamation marks because not only do I have 3rd party libraires, but I change my computer every so often and want the midi groove library to be located off the C drive so that its content and organization can persist in the location of my choosing.

Yeah, all those selfish dumbo drumbox vst makers have one goal LoL: don’t let the other children play my sandbox; we also won’t allow their toys any access …

PS i reinstalled the lot according TT ‘rules’, then used the official GrooveMonkey installer … BINGO, here we go again …. ain’t no fun anymore.

We designed Linked Folders to do what you guys seem to want – you select a folder and link it, instead of having to manually move and change the order of the Toontrack MIDI folders on disk.

What are the downsides of the implementation of Linked Folders, since you don’t seem to use it? If we can find out why, we can make it better for you…
