Thanks for the YouTube link, it was helpful to get the EZD separated channels in both Console and Inspector within Cubase.
Nice to be able to add effect inserts separately.

    Mr Shootie School,

Continuing this same subject.  Yes, agree that your YouTube shows how to get channels separated but that is more a mixing function.

How can I assign each EZD patch/instrument (say high hats , cymbals, and 2-3 drums) each to a separate MIDI Channel so I can have multiple tracks in my DAW , so for example:

    IN DAW TRACK LISTING:

Track 1, MIDI Channel 1, High Hat 1 from EZD2  (Virtual Instrment)
Track 2, MIDI Channel 2, Kick Drum 1 from EZD2 (Virtual instrument)
    ETC…

I see. It is not a conventional way to work. Can I ask why you need that? You want to program each instrument from EZD2 on it’s own midi track?

I’ve never wanted to work this way, so I do not know how to tell you how to do it. Maybe there’s another way to do what you want if you can explain your reasoning. You are not the first person to ask this though… https://www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/outputting-midi-or-audio-to-separate-tracks/

Ideally, I want to control 4-8 percussion instruments with a CC (controler, could be my keyboard controller w pads or later on Alesis / Korg with Pads).

I want each instrument recorded w MIDI event data on its own track in Cubase 11 (which can go in folders) so i can visualize the pitch, velocity, and add automation per track, so as to later merge data or transpose, et al, in loops or longer.

    Does that help?

I guess the short answer is, to visualize the data in my DAW. Does that help?

I think that not a lot of people NOT do it this way for percussion/drums loops but I want to … as how my workflow is best.

    Open to ideas?

It makes sense. I’m not sure what to recommend.

Off of the top of my head, I would load multiple instances of EZD2 for each instrument you want. On each instance I would “Empty Kit”, and then just load the single instrument I wanted to trigger for that midi track to reduce taxing your system.

That’s the best I have for you bud. Maybe someone else will swing in with a better workflow. And do check out that other thread I linked to, maybe there’s something in there for you.
