I’m unable to make EZKeys (demo anyway) change chords in the middle of a measure. On Windows 7 x64, 64 bit version of EZKeys demo.
Repro:
Load the piano in the standalone version of EZKeys and go to Pop/Rock > Ballad 66 BPM > Verse > Variation 04
Drag into the editor and play
Start singing Adele. Wait, that’s not part of the repro.
Add a chord in the middle of a measure, for instance make an Fm or D on the third beat of measure 4, between the F and C. You may have to zoom in a bit on the timeline before it will let you insert it.
Play back.
The chord does not change.
Can anyone confirm? Does this problem exist in the non-demo version?

Can someone quickly confirm this for me?
Sort of a deal-breaker if I can’t do simple edits to the chord progression.

I can’t reproduce on the full version.
How are you ‘adding a chord in the middle of a measure’? Are you using the Add Chord Tool or are you using the Scissor Tool first, and then just changing the cord?

I add it with the add chord tool. No scissoring involved.

I’ll have to probe the Toontrack folks to see if this is an bug with the demo or an expected limitation as it doesn’t happen with the full version.

Followed this exact recipe and it works well (full version) It should work just as well in the demo since there’s no difference in this respect between the two. To clarify, I used the Add Chord tool to add a Chord Marker on the third beat of measure four and then used the Edit tool to bring up the Chord Circle to change chord.

Thanked by: absnoI just tried it again after restarting it and it works fine for some reason.
I was not imagining things. There was clearly a chord change there and the change was not occurring as the playback line went over it. It happened the first time I ran the demo in standalone. I tried redoing it several times with similar problems.
Seems to be OK now for whatever reason.
You may delete this thread, so as not to sew panic among potential buyers, but keep an ear out for the problem please.

Many thanks – the advice on zooming in on the timeline solved a problem that I had, and also solved a similar issue with EZdrummer when I wanted to start half way through a measure.
