Hello!
Apparently the metronome cannot be switched off when recording in standalone mode. It works in the DAW.
It’s important to me because sometimes I’d like to record purely by feel and then the metronome gets in the way. Especially with slow, solemn ballads, the metronome is extremely annoying.
I can then only make the metronome quieter in the settings.
The buttons and next to the record button don’t seem to do anything, the metronome then continues to run. In the DAW as a plugin, the buttons work perfectly.
Does anyone have any advice or is this a bug that should be fixed?
I was very happy that I can now edit the midi data without a DAW and compose without a DAW.
So it would be great if I could have control but the metronome in standalone mode.
I’m not in front of my studio computer,
but the manual states that the metronome can be toggled on/off
using the button on the Transport Bar.
Pretty sure that I & others confirmed this during beta-testing.
This also works when I have loaded EZKeys as a plugin in the DAW, but unfortunately it does not work in standalone mode.

Hi there,
Press record and play on the transport and then click the metronome after it has started and the metronome will be quiet.

Thanked by: dimugiThank you Brad!
That’s strikingly true, but it’s probably a bug and should be fixed by Toontrack.
In any case, you have helped me a lot with this.
Thanks alot!

Thanked by: Bradright-clicking on the [Record] button opens up
the ‘Enable on Record‘ options that include
toggling on/off the Metronome and the Count-In.

Thanked by: dimugi, rixa and BradThese options can also be found in the Record submenu of the Track menu. The ‘Enable on Record’ settings are saved in projects. Default values can be saved in the default project for the standalone – in DAWs they always default to off.

I haven’t found anything like that yet, but it’s not as important as turning off the metrom.
At least I can try to start the recording with my foot and with a little practice it will certainly succeed. As I have seen, I should also be able to start a loop recording via the last item in the Record menu and then you can then stpile until it is good. 🙂
Especially with new ideas, it sometimes takes a little while to get them into your head and fingers, so it makes sense to be able to record them in a loop.
The piano isn’t my main instrument, but it’s what I enjoy most and that’s where I have the best ideas at the moment.
Maybe I should have learned to play the piano as a kid. 😉
