I’m caught into a strange situation…
Using a Roland TD12 to play EZD2 default preset, the ride cymbal starts playing correctly when I load EZD2 (in standalone) AFTER powering up the module. Otherwise, the ride cymbal sounds (edge & bell) in EZD2 are exchanged for choke sounds. This does not affect the other pads, HH or cymbals, though. Moreover, any tweaking of the TD12 appears to make it send some command that is translated into a sound change in EZD2? I have checked the map change after the sound switch happened with a MIDI keyboard and it is 100% into the EZD2 , as the TD12 outputs the accurate Roland mapping and EZD2 is set to the Roland preset map with the appropriate HH control. Playing the graphic interface with mouse or screen is OK, though.
As it is not possible to remap EZD2, I cannot see how this can happen. There is obviously a MIDI command or else, emitted by the Roland module, that causes this behavior in EZD2. Any preset change from any expansion gives the same result for that ride cymbal only. I have to reload EZD2 to get it back to normal… but any TD12 tweaking sets the ride sounds into choke ones. I use a custom set of SmarTrigger but that can’t explain this phenomenon.
Has someone ever gone into such a thing?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Hi,
can you monitor what gets sent from your module?
EZdrummer 2 does respond to MIDI Program change and AfterTouch.

Thanks for the answer, John!
I have no actual mean to monitor what comes from the TD12 at the place I am now BUT I solved the problem by… exchanging cables to the Ride triple zones cymbal. For the moment, it works fine but I could just plug the previous cables back to duplicate the behavior. Something went wrong with this cabling but I am curious to get the final word about what happened into the app…
As you are around, I’ve used both EZ and SD line with great pleasure in the studio but I am trying to incorporate EZD2 into a live rig for the first time. I cannot find my way to change my user presets or user customs kits by the MIDI program change function… It always starts from the top of the list, which is Claustrophobic for the instance. How can I get my own presets mapped to MIDI Prg change? I may have missed it but what I read was unclear to me.
Thanks in advance!
