We tried this on a windows computer, running Cubase 10, and it worked as intended.

    • Can you try to create a new track in SD3 and place some MIDI there just to try if that makes any difference
    • Or else, try to create a new Cubase project, where you create a tempo map and see if it works then

Hi Henrik. Tried a new project, fresh cubase tempo track, and SD3 followed OK.

The file with the tempo changes was an imported midi Type 1 file from another music program. Tempo changes came from that …..

Created a new SD3 track, and it runs also out of sync.

I exported the created midi for the whole song file in SD3 by dragging it out on the allocated SD3 instrument track, and timing seems to work with the export, but on one SD3 part there was a slight offset of the midi notes halfway through around the tempo change, seen in Cubase thus …

Looking again at the tempo track with the problems, i saw that the imported  temp changes from 125bpm were at 8.3.1.0 to 126, and at 9.1.1.0 to 127.

So i guess that SD3 doesn’t eat tempo changes within a (4/4) bar ?  i changed it  so 8.1.1.0 and 9.1.1.0 (at the bar starts) were used instead, and SD3 follows that OK it seems.

Also what i miss in creating songs in SD3, is an adjustable tempo map, also for bar count changes like an inserted 2/4/bar in a 4/4/ song. Maybe it’s there, but i couldn’t find it … J

PS EZkeys suffers from the same problems i just found out,  it can’t slave properly with a tempo change positioned at halfways through a bar …

We cannot reproduce this here at the office, Superior 3 always follows the DAW tempo correctly if you have “follow host” engaged.

Could you create a simple Cubase project where this is reproducible and post it here so I can take a look at what is going on?

At the top left of the song track there is a menu button called “Track” where you can access the tempo and time signature editors by clicking “Edit Tempo…” or “Edit Time Signature…”.

A Thanks. I have been trying to reproduce the syncing issue i had with a fresh Cubase 10 song, changing tempos per beat in a 4/4 count. ramping tempo etc … found no problems. SD3 slaved OK.

I think it has to do with the imported midi file, as i found some other errors with it regarding programmed tempo changes in it. So you can mark this post as solved (i cannot edit the header my self) , and if i find were my problem came from i will report of course. I still had it with the Cubase project file as such, but i edited the exported SD3 parts in Cubase, as it needed finishing  …. J
