A colleague bought a new silicon macbook pro and so far SD3 standalone works perfectly, no crashes, he’s using a focusrite scarlett 4i4 third gen and that worked with no drivers at all, the only thing didn’t work was the focusrite control app, it doesn’t detect the interface, but it appears on the mac audio settings so no problem using it in SD3.

UA is ready so now just waiting for my Drums, I believe Izatope is good too but not Soundtoys, NI is not ready either, Looks like I’ll take the last train on this Big Sur Update

Universal Audio is ready, how about Toontrack?  Izatope is good to go too but not Native Instruments

    Hi,

Toontrack products have no known compatibility issues with macOS Big Sur. We do however always recommend making sure your DAWs, Audio Interface drivers etc are compatible though before updating.

    Hi Viktor,

I think people are referring to Toontrack products running natively on Big Sur with the M1 chip rather than simulation through Rosetta 2.

Rosetta 2 is taking care of compatibility issues with Big Sur for software built on Intel instruction sets. However, software for the new ARM Macs are going need to be rewritten for people to enjoy the full efficiency of the new SoC M1 Macs.

Now that Apple have released their M1 chip. Is Toontrack working on M1 compatibility for their software and do you have any idea of how long this may take?

    Regards

    Rodney

P.S. I don’t actually think that there is a massive rush because most people are probably waiting for the next Apple M1/M1x/M2 hardware to be released before making the jump to a new system.

I am having a hell of a time with Audio and crashing but I thought it was hardware based. I’ve already had the logic board replaced after having my new MacBook 16″ 2019 for 4 months ! Now I am having tons of other problems that look like a logic board dying….
